The Ask
This project was my senior capstone for the BFA I received at Miami University in 2023. I utilized my capstone project to create a brand identity and branded materials for a small business, Lemons' Quilts. This small, Wisconsin-based quilt shop makes memory quilts out of the clothing of loved ones. I was touched by their mission and dedication to creating the physical manifestation of memories, and offered to create a branding system for them, as they had no brand standards at the time. This project included weeks-long communication with my client as I interviewed them to learn more about their brand ideals, deliverable needs, and preferences as I designed them. This project gave me the opportunity to work as a freelancer and handle all aspects of the design process from start to finish, and become comfortable frequently communicating back and forth with the client. This project concluded with the culmination of a set of brand standards, a branded pattern, a logo design, letterhead, business cards, promotional stickers for freebies, and branded packaging. The client was very happy with the final deliverables and is excited to utilize them herself in her own day-to-day operations.
